Business process management applications can also be deployed to the TIBCO ActiveMatrix runtime, where they are executed by TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM.TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM also provides two web client applications - Openspace and Workspace - which users can use to access TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM and business process management applications that have been deployed to it.TIBCO ActiveMatrix Administrator allows users to deploy, configure, and manage both the TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM application itself and the business process management applications that use it. TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM is implemented as a number of independent components that expose services, exploiting the benefits of the Service Component Architecture (SCA) provided by the TIBCO ActiveMatrix runtime.The service virtualization capabilities provided by the TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM runtime manage and route traffic between the nodes as required. For example, a request from the Web Components logical node on Node 1 is not automatically handled by the Process Manager on the same node. Depending on the current load, it may be handled by the Process Manager on either Node 1 or Node 2. If a node, host or cluster member fails - whether that failure is caused by a hardware or software failure - messages are automatically re-routed to the remaining nodes in the cluster. Although execution capacity is reduced, service is not interrupted and no data or messages are lost. Outstanding transactions associated with the failed node are rolled back.Logical nodes can also be distributed to different physical nodes, to provide specialization and horizontal scalability capabilities according to the enterprise?s needs. For example, if the enterprise?s focus is on straight-through processing and enterprise integration, it may want to direct more resource to Process Manager nodes. Similarly,a call center-based enterprise may require more Work Manager nodes. A distributed configuration requires homogenous software configuration. Each member of the cluster must use the same TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM logical node type.

A pageflow process can also include other activities - such as web service or database calls, scripts and conditional logic - which can be used to drive the interaction with the user. Pageflows can also be chained together.
